Worship

Sunday morning worship

Worship is created when we come together to praise and worship God. At Beacon Hill URC this usually takes place on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.  This service is normally a traditional family service. The Minister, Reverend Ruth Dillon, usually leads worship on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. We are fortunate to welcome a number of Ministers & Lay Preachers to lead us in worship on the other Sundays of the month.

Holy Communion is conducted on the 2nd Sunday of every month. We have an Open Communion, where anyone regardless of religious denomination, ability, sexuality, age, adult, child or culture are welcome to join us.

The Hymn Book we usually use is ‘Rejoice and Sing‘. However, we also use Power Point most weeks, and this enables us to display words for other hymns, see videos and show images to aid us in worship. Although we enjoy singing traditional hymns and liturgy, the Power Point enables us to sing new hymns or words to familiar tunes, and have different liturgies. A service sheet is often used to aid us in worship.

We use a Digital Hymnal to accompany our worship. A hearing loop is installed for those using hearing aids.

We work closely with St Albans Church and St Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church and have held a variety of different services together.

Our Worship space

Our worship space area has comfortable seats, allowing us to arrange the area as required. It includes a prayer corner, where anyone can sit quietly or place a prayer request on the prayer tree. There is a space for children and mums to sit, with toys and books to entertain the children.
